I imagine a fairly comedic version, where our hero turns into animals at inconvenient times with little control. Something a bit Night Of The Museum perhaps.
I suggested this years ago (as a result of a dare on RPGnet) to be played semi-straight in an Angel kind of way.
Since I only really remember the star being British, and the presence of a blonde woman...One correction made since - Stan Winston Studios to do the practical effects, and give them more than three hours for each!

Also starring Kristen Bell as the Zoology grad student who discovers his terrifying secret
Featuring Brian Cox as our hero's absentee father, and Ryan Philippe as the charming young head of Environmental-Destroying-Megacorp International out to hunt him down.
